ROYAL GOTLANDS ANTIAIRCRAFT ARTILLERYCORPS

Lv 2

History:

The corps originally was a detachment from Stockholms antiaircraft artilleryregiment named Lv 3 G and it was raised in 1944. In 1952 when Stockholms antiaircraft artilleryregiment was relocated to Norrtälje the detachment on Gotland changed its parant unit to Östgöta antiaircraft artilleryregiment and thus changed designation to Lv 2 G. When Östgöta antiaircraft artilleryregiment was disbanded in 1962 the designation Lv 2 was transferred to the division on Gotland. In the last years the unit had corpsstatus. It was located in Visby together with Gotlands regiment and Gotlands artillery regiment. The corps was selected for disbandment in 2000.
