In 1841 Västerbottens Fieldjaegerregiment was split

corps grew into Norrbottens regiment. The regiment was located in Boden.
In 1910 the regiment got a forth batallion that in 1917 was reorganized into an
oversnow unit with skies. This batallion was located in Kiruna 1943. In 1945 the batallion

1994-2000 the regiment raised the 19:th mechanized brigade that was beeing reorganized from a motorized oversnow
Norrland brigade to a mechanized brigade with Strv 122 and CV 90. In this process I 19

was changed back to I 19 but it will continue to train tanks and CV 90 units for
the new brigades.
