History:
The regiment traces its heritage to the in 1658 in the new province
Scania raised cavalry regiment. During its first years it had different names but in the
late 1600:s the official name became Northern Scanian cavalryregiment. In 1801
the name was changed to the Scanian linedragoonregiment and in 1807 it recieved
its last name Royal Scanian hussars. The regiment was located with one battalion
in Helsingborg, three squadrons in Landskrona and two squadrons in Uppsala. In 1928 the
regiment merged with the Scanian dragoonregiment and the Crownprincess
hussars to form the Scanian cavalryregiment.
Colors:
The regiments color was blue. The banner was yellow with a red
griffonhead.
